Specializations
Translators sometimes focus their activities on a certain field of expertise and improve their skills and knowledge in that field through training courses and education. At the start of my career my main area of activity was in the field of legal texts, such as general terms and conditions, contracts, notarial deeds, writs of summons and court sentences. However, this initial focus from the early stages was soon followed by scores of other types of assignments and content, which has now resulted in a portfolio containing a diverse package of themes, with translations ranging from stories of travels to exotic destinations or a website about flowers and plants, to autobiographies and video transcripts. The wide variety of these assignments is the very reason why I always enjoy translating and why I can be deployed for every branch of industry, for every discipline and for every type of text.
Rates
The rates for translations may vary depending on the volume and the degree of difficulty of the source text, the desired time of delivery and other factors. A large volume of text may reduce the price per word to be translated, a rush order may involve additional costs. GS Translations applies rates that are in line with the market, but the company will always offer a price that is highly competitive within that market.
Social commitment
In determining rates and handling assignments GS Translations will make a distinction based on circumstances of more deprived groups and persons in society, where distressing cases or the interests of those of limited means are concerned, or in case of a good cause. On a case-by-case basis, GS Translations will then make every effort to provide a reduced rate and / or faster-than-usual delivery.
